- Unilateral toxic nodule.
- Solitary adenoma or cyst.
- Thyroid carcinoma.
- Graves’ disease.
- Hashimoto thyroiditis.
- Multinodular goiter.
- Substernal goiter.
- Locally advanced head and neck carcinoma demonstrated by presence of nodal disease clinically, by preoperative imaging, or by sentinel node biopsy.
