Chris Eden advised me to shave with my non-dominant hand to develop ambidexterity, and I now find it difficult to shave with my right!


It’s inexcusable to substitute practice in a wet or dry lab for practice on your patients. Regarding practice in suturing, all you need is a pair of needle ­holders, a shoe box, some sutures, an eye-patch and a balloon dismembered and secured with drawing pins. Put the lid on the box, having cut a square hole in the final third and poke the instruments through the lid somewhere near the edge of the hole.
