Diagnosis of bile duct anomalies

Palliation of biliary obstruction from bile duct, ampullary, or pancreas cancer

Imaging of bile and pancreatic ducts prior to ampullectomy

Acute recurrent pancreatitis (to rule out obstructive cause or sphincter dysfunction-should not be performed during acute episode)

Type I and II Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction (manometry and biliary/pancreatic sphincterotomy)
