Abdominal Pain: Chronic
DEFINITION:
Pain that has remained unchanged for months or years can be safely classified as ‘chronic’
Divided into diagnosable (intermittent or constant) and undiagnosable
Chronic undiagnosed abdominal pain: pain that is present for at least 6 months without diagnosis despite appropriate evaluation
♀ > ♂, A history of sexual or physical abuse is common; Pain is described in vague peculiar terms; Multiple somatic complaints
